24-Hour Library Kiosk Now Open In Lon C. Hill Park!

The Harlingen Public Library held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the 24-Hour Library Kiosk on November 8 at Lon C. Hill Park.

Fun Fact: Ours is the FIRST Envisionware 24-Hour Library Kiosk in Texas! It is one of just 40 public library 24-hour kiosks in the country!

Harlingen Public Library card holders can now check out, return, and pick up reserved materials at any time at the kiosk. Located next to the accessible playground, the kiosk will remain stocked with popular fiction and nonfiction titles for readers of all ages. People also have the option of placing library materials on reserve through their library account for pickup at the kiosk.

Here’s how it works:

You’ll be able to select from about 340 books by scanning your library card and entering your password (usually your phone number). After clicking “Check out,” you’ll key in the book number from the list, and a drawer will dispense the book for you!

Returns are just as simple! After scanning your card and entering your password, you’ll select “Return,” and the machine will prompt you to place the item in the designated drawer.

We’ll need your help testing it out, so please check it out soon! If you have any issues or just want to share your experience using the kiosk, call us at (956) 216-5810.
