"We are the bridge builders; we make ways where none exist." – HPL Mission Statement
Digital Comics, Magazines, Ebooks & Audiobooks : Overdrive & Libby
Overdrive is a free service provided by libraries that lets you borrow digital content (ebooks, audiobooks, comics, and magazines) anytime, anywhere with an internet connection.
All you need to get started is a Harlingen Public Library card and an internet connection. There are different ways to use and access Overdrive depending on your device.
For Android devices, you can download the app on the Google Play Store.
For Apple devices, you can download the app on the App Store.
Libby can do everything that Overdrive can; it has the big advantage of being easy to use with a sleek and refined interface. Many of our patrons prefer it over the traditional Overdrive App. (Note that Libby does not work on older devices.)

Need More Help?
Overdrive’s help website has a great FAQ section and detailed information for troubleshooting problems – including problems with Libby. If that website doesn’t help or isn’t clear, feel free to bring your device in for help at the Reference or Periodicals Desk.
If your library card expired or was just renewed that can cause issues too.
If expired: Stop by the Circulation Desk and renew your card. It is better to keep your card number so that you can still use your current Account. If you renew and your card number changes, you will unfortunately need to create an entirely new Account.
