The mission of the Tip-o-Texas Genealogical Society:
To gather and preserve genealogical information; to encourage genealogical research; to publish such information in a bulletin [Genealogical TIPS, published since 1962 and now available in digital format]; to gather genealogical books for placement in the genealogical section of the Harlingen Public Library; to accept gifts of money, material, research papers, books, pictures and all other material of genealogical value; to issue tax exempt receipts for such gifts; to promote interest through schools and other means in genealogical research in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas and its citizens. to promote and enlarge the membership of this society; and to collect dues from such members; such dues to be used altogether in carrying out the above mission.
