
The City of Harlingen partners with the Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley to host food distribution events. You don’t have to live in Harlingen to receive the food, but you do need to wear a mask and bring an ID.

Harlingen Neighborhood Food Pantry
The Harlingen Neighborhood Food Pantry distributes food along with baby supplies to Harlingen residents Wednesdays, 9:00AM-11:30AM. Please bring ID and utility bill or other proof of address.

The Food Bank RGV serves Hidalgo, Willacy, and Cameron Counties. They distribute food through a weekly Emergency Pantry and support local food drives.

Loaves and Fishes distributes food bags in Harlingen through their Friday Food Bags program from 9:00AM-12:00PM. Open to Harlingen residents. They also provide meals seven days a week through their Bread of Life Dining Hall.

Faith Pleases God Food Pantry is an approved partner agency of the RGV food bank. They provide free groceries to qualified residence of Cameron county.

Limitless Church Limitless Food Pantry
Limitless Food Pantry distributes groceries Wednesdays from 12-2pm (times are subject to change). There are no restrictions and the only requirement is that you have a need.

Benefits that assist people experiencing food insecurity include the following:
- SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) This used to be called food stamps. Helps buy food for good health. Some people might get help the next work day.
- TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) Cash Help for Families Helps families with children 18 and younger pay for things like food, clothing, and housing.
- WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) Program A health and nutrition program that helps improve the diets of infants and children as well as pregnant, postpartum and breastfeeding women.
