Renew Items

Library books may be checked out for 21 days (3 weeks). Library videos may be checked out for 7 days (1 week). If this is not enough time, you are able to renew items twice – unless another patron has placed a reserve on that item.

If there are no issues with your account and you haven’t reached the maximum renewals, the system will automatically renew your materials if you have not turned them in on their due date.

To renew an item you can do it three ways:

  1. Visit the Online Catalog and log-in with you library card and password (the default password is your full phone number) in the upper right hand corner. Once you are logged in the options My Account and Log Out. Click on My Account. This will open up a menu showing your Account Info, Notifications Items Out/Renewals, Reserves, and Bookmarks. Click on Renewals and here you will find a listing of the materials you have checked out. If it is still renewable you can click the renew button. A new due date will be shown. Once you are finished log out and keep on reading.
  2. Call the Library Circulation Desk at (956) 216-5810
  3. Visit the library Circulation Desk.

If you are trying to renew an ILL you can only do that by visiting the Periodicals Desk or calling them at 956-216-5807. ILL renewals are determined by the lending library and not guaranteed.
